Population-level malnutrition indicators from survey or study records (API key)
POST /malnutrition/analyse · API key required
Send up to 2000 child records. Measurements are validated with the /research/harmonise rules and the data quality engine; z-scores are recomputed with the WHO standards (the same classifiers as GET /growth/assess), or taken from z_columns you supply (with z_scale, for example 100 for values in hundredths, and missing_codes) for secondary analysis of survey files. Implausible z-scores are excluded by the WHO flexible limits (or against the survey mean) and counted. Reports, for the age range (default 0 to 59 months): stunting, underweight, wasting, and overweight, each with moderate and severe parts, a Wilson or exact interval and, for children under 5, the UNICEF/WHO/World Bank prevalence level for stunting, wasting and overweight (very low to very high); thinness and overweight by BMI-for-age from 60 months when the range extends; global and severe acute malnutrition by WHZ, by MUAC (125 and 115 mm), by oedema and combined, with the WHZ/MUAC overlap; concurrent wasting and stunting and the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure; mean z-scores; the same by age group, sex and up to three columns you name, with a chi-square test for difference between groups; expected case numbers for a population; and an optional flat table. design_effect widens intervals for cluster surveys; sampling weights are not applied. Nothing is stored. Research aid, not a diagnosis.
